The NSW Planning Portal has been developed by the NSW Government with the purpose of providing an online environment where, amongst other things, industry and government can work together to host a range of digital planning services, mapping tools and reporting tools to assist everyone involved in a proposed development.

The benefits of using these digital services include;

• Improving application determination times,

• Increase transparency of the planning system

• Greater accountability of all stakeholders.

The NSW Planning Portal also serves as the mechanism, whereby applications for construction certificates, complying development certificates and occupation certificates are made to the NSW Government, Local Councils and Registered Certifiers. That is, if you want to lodge an application for any one of these certificates, you must do so though the NSW Planning Portal.
